It's hard to believe "Blue Yonder" has been running for 100 pages and going on two years this November. Big changes are afoot for the webcomic. Expect to see a lot of them after the second storyline draws to a close in a few months and we begin our next interlude. All of these changes will hopefully lead to a much fuller - and hopefully more enjoyable - reading experience.
One thing that hasn't changed is the cost of doing the webcomic. While it's admittedly a labor of love, it doesn't change the fact that Luke and I are still dropping a significant amount of cash month after month to keep this webcomic going. We'll be monetizing the website to stop the leak in our wallets, but don't worry - all money earned will go to keeping this a consistent and most importantly free webcomic. So with that in mind, there are presently two ways to help "Blue Yonder". One of them involves spending money, and one of them involves no money at all.
Since the latter is probably more appealing, here's how you can help without spending any money all. It's simple: if you see an ad which looks interesting on the webcomic, click it. We sell adspace through Project Wonderful. The more this adspace gets used, the more its worth, so click away! (the right-hand link for "Buzzboy" looks really slick anyway).
The second way involves money. You'll start seeing links to Barnes and Noble on the blog. Every Tuesday we'll post what we're reading, watching or listening to, like as seen here. If you see something you like, buy it. We'll make a small commission. It's not much, but every little bit helps us keep afloat and keep making these webcomics. My long-term goal is tell all of Blue Yonder's tale - beginning, middle and end - but to do that we have to expand our budget.
There will be more ways to help in the coming months. For now, check the blog for frequent updates and keep Blue Yonder in the air!
(That's it for this rant. Check out a new Blue Yonder Wednesday)
